According to a recent
national survey, 70 percent of travelers surveyed
said they plan to “check in” back
home while on vacation. CaribbeanLime Travel Services USA
commissioned the survey
to determine
if and how consumers plan to stay connected while vacationing.
Nearly 85 percent of the respondents said that a phone is the
preferred communications tool for checking in with their home or
office, outnumbering e-mail 10 to 1. The survey results illustrate a
growing trend over the past decade of travelers needing to stay in
contact with home and work even while away on vacation.
“It’s important
for people to get their minds off everyday life, however, most people can’t completely disengage from
commitments at home or the office, so they are finding ways to stay
in touch while still getting away.”
