Cyber
cafes and kiosks provide another way to stay connected wit
h the
world, or at least your e-mail inbox, from the road. Here are some
starting points.
Cybercafes.com contains a
database of thousands of Internet cafes in countries around the
world. You can search by city or country.
Many airports are now equipped with privately-run computer labs. You
are charged a fee depending on what type of resources you need, and
how long you need them. Some airport payphones now have phone jacks
installed specifically for computer connections, contact the airport
directly for more information
Copy centers and
printing shops sometimes have computer stations you can rent out
that are fully-loaded with all the software programs you'll ever
need. Many are even open 24 hours. We recommend Kinko's;
visit any of their locations nationwide. Local libraries as
well as those on nearby college campuses are also great resources
for Internet access, even in the
great outdoors. This Campground
Directory has a sizable list of modem-friendly campgrounds,
which you can search. Check the Yellow Pages for nearby locations.
